  • Man in the upper right corner: Tape Recorder, Northsider

Hints:

  • There are no clocks in the scene, so build the timeline from the race times on the betting screen and from which race has just finished.
  • The kiosk shows it is Friday, while the first break-in happened on Tuesday. Something was left in the office for three days.
  • The note on the victim mentions number 17, who never leaves their side. That is a dog, not a person.
  • Compare the tools in the dog carrier in the kennel with the dust marks on the office shelf, and count them against the note about what was collected.
  • The Andier gang wear yellow jackets and always work in pairs. If you can only see one, the other has either left or changed clothes.
  • The track owner wears a charm with a dog’s name on it. When her favourite runs, she is not in her office.
  • Look closely at the Northsider’s tape recorder: the dirt on it and the three days of audio tell you where it was hidden.
  • The owner says nothing was taken. That is only true for things she knew were in her office.
  • Someone shut the kennel dog away before the killing. Ask who would need it out of the way.
