Roles Scroll

Hints:

  • Zoom in with the mouse wheel. Most of the evidence in this case is only visible up close.
  • Identify everyone first; the other scrolls are almost impossible without it. The scroll asks for ship roles, not names.
  • The captain’s log explains each role. There are eighteen names and six of them are crossed out, including the captain.
  • Start with the easy ones: the only woman still listed, the man with a wooden leg, the one with a gold tooth and the bosun you already know.
  • After the captain died, a close vote chose his successor. For this scroll, the new captain keeps the role he had before the vote.
  • A to-do list mentions repairing Garner’s nose, which is made of wood. That is not a surgeon’s job.
  • Only the rigger is expected to climb the rigging.

Skeletons and Events I Scrolls

Hints:

  • The fighting split the crew by how they voted. A killer and their victim are almost always on opposite sides.
  • Identify skeletons from things that do not rot: wooden limbs, rings, earrings and necklaces.
  • Nobody moved the bodies before 1927. Someone killed instantly lies where they fell, while someone with a slow wound may have moved.
  • Axes, cleavers and kukris cut through bone. Pistols leave holes. The cheap cutlass would snap in a real fight.
  • Five crew members voted one way and four the other, and the powder monkey did not vote. Count how many skeletons each side left.
  • If everyone not on the escape boat died, at least two people must have killed each other.
  • Two people shot at the new captain, but only the head shot killed him. For the slowly dying, find where the wound happened, not where they lie.

Events II Scroll

Hints:

  • This scroll covers what happened in 1927. Everyone involved is already known.
  • The gem sits somewhere far too obvious, and it was not there in 1797.
  • Old blood would be long gone, so any fresh stains are new violence. Where is Olita?
