Hints:

• In this case a job title counts as a name.
• The portraits show the king and those before him. Clothing will not tell you who is the most recent, but something else in the paintings changes over time.
• The sun is in the direction of the balcony. Find a map with a compass to tell whether it is rising or setting.
• Everyone meeting the king brought part of a speech for him to record. There is a blood trail to the tape machine, and a piece of cut tape in the bin.
• Tape was edited by cutting and gluing it. If a few seconds were removed, a harmless line about orders could sound very different.
• The secretary heard the king ask not to be disturbed, after he was already dead. Think about where that voice came from.
• Gifts were checked at the security point, so the dagger was hidden in or on one of them. One statuette is missing what it should be holding.
• The trapdoor is under a chair, so nobody could have used it during the meeting.
• Whoever left in a hurry by car recorded their part just before the murder, and whoever is running late is the next visitor.
