Servant of the Lake: Searching the Attic Walkthrough

Solution: As with the luggage puzzle, the items have to fit neatly together. It helps to start with the group that has the fewest pieces, the fingers, and put them in the smallest compartment on the right. The final layout:

• Large compartment on the left: Shapes and shards
• Large compartment at the top: Flesh, eye, and bones
• Small compartment at the bottom: Leaves and twigs
• Small compartment on the bottom right: Fingers

Take the Candle from the box once it’s solved. Next, go to the chest of drawers with the golden box on top. Pull out the two bottom drawers to get the Small Statue and Rung.

Now go to the window.

Hidden achievement (Chase Away the Crow): If you’ve done the steps above, a crow appears at the window. Click the window to scare the crow away.

You can move the clouds here. Drag them across the scene, and you’ll see the moon turn red, the lake turn black, and the lights come on in the house.

Now go to the silver box near the table.

Silver Box Puzzle

Hint: Seeing stars?

Solution: Moving the clouds across the window changes the house, moon, and lake. To find each constellation, watch which stars the clouds cover as they pass:

• The House: Five stars, four in a square and one line going off to the top left.
• The Moon: A triangle of three stars.
• The Lake: Six stars, with a square in the middle and lines going off to the top left and bottom right.

Puzzle complete: Silver Box (Night) Puzzle

Once you enter the right combination, you get another Small Statue.

Look at the Lantern hanging from the ceiling. Open it, put the Candle inside, and light it with the Matches.

This lights up the left side of the room. Go over there and take the Small Statue next to the box on the floor.

Figurine Puzzle

Hint: Make the story happen.

Solution: Act out the story by placing the figurines on the paper. Each time you place the right figurine, the arrow moves to point at the next line.

1. Start with the slightly smaller soldier in blue.
2. Move the figurine of the woman onto the paper.
3. Add the cube and the triangle. Remove the woman.
4. Remove the cube and triangle. Add the other soldier in blue and put the woman back.
5. Remove the woman and one of the soldiers. Add the horse.
6. Remove the horse. Add the soldier in green behind him.
7. Remove both soldiers. Add the woman and the triangle.
8. Remove the triangle. Add the cube.

Puzzle complete: Figurine Puzzle

Take the Small Key and go back to the middle of the room. Use it on the purse on the ground to get the last Small Statue.

Click the Gold Box and add all the statues.

Hint: Think of home.

Solution: Match each statue to its habitat:

• The Butterfly: Slot 1, Flower
• The Monkey: Slot 3, Tree
• The Bird: Slot 2, Cloud
• The Fish: Slot 4, Water

The open box gives you the Special Scroll William mentioned, plus another Rung for the ladder. Go to the right side of the room and add both Rungs to the ladder. All that’s left is to draw back the hatch.
