Servant of the Lake: Night Time Duties Walkthrough

William sitting on a stool in the stove room

When the night starts, go into the room on the left, where William is sitting. Talk to him. He hands you the Golden Timepiece and tells you to take it down to the cellar. Leave the room and go forward into the one with the pink chair.

Hidden achievement (Garbage Disposal): Go upstairs next to William’s portrait and through the door on the right. Open the balcony, pick up the animal parts, and throw them over the edge.

Hallway with the rug by the door circled

Click the rug on the floor to reveal a hidden door. This is the way down to the cellar. Go in and inspect the bottles.

Bottle Puzzle

Cellar shelves with three bottles above rows of symbols

Hint: Time is a symbol, but do you have the right time?

Solution: Each timepiece has an inscription that matches a bottle, and the bottle rims are colored to match the timepieces. The bottles aren’t in the right places, though. To work out where they go, check each sibling’s portrait. Drag a timepiece onto a portrait, and it changes to reveal a symbol:

  • Aldous: Silver Timepiece, a triangle with a line through it
  • William: Golden Timepiece, a squiggly line
  • Alexandra: Bronze Timepiece, an upside-down cross

Then move each bottle:

  • Gold: Right one, to the squiggly line
  • Silver: Right one, to the bottom left of the next shelf
  • Bronze: Right one, to the upside-down cross
