Servant of the Lake: Preparing Coffee Walkthrough
Day two starts with the maid waiting at the entrance. Talk to her, and she runs through everything you’ll need to do for William, Aldous, and Alexandra today.
Coffee comes first. Go into the stove room on the left. There’s a lockbox (the same one as before, with the three siblings on it) and a pot on the stove.
The stove is lit and the wood is burning, but there’s no coffee, so go looking for some. Head into the next room, the one with the pink chair. By now, all of the portraits have gone.
You can’t get through to the garden or the stairs to Aldous’s room, but the large door upstairs, where William’s portrait used to hang, is now open.
Go up there. You’ll find a picture of the house, a locked door on the left, an open door on the right, and a table with a Grinder.
Inspect the picture. Three of the windows are lit, and they show the numbers 2, 5, and 4. Click the windows to turn on all the lights and reveal more numbers, along with the figures of three people.
Sibling Box Puzzle
Changing the picture of the house brings the siblings’ portraits back. Look at them again.
Hint: They won’t move this time, but they still point you in the right direction.
Solution: Note which way each sibling points: Alexandra points up, William points left, and Aldous points right. Then match each silhouette in the house to a sibling. Alexandra’s silhouette is in the bottom left of the house, so she points up to 3. Aldous has the top hat, so he points right to 1. William is on the second floor, pointing left to 5. The code for the box is 315.

Open the box and take the Coffee Beans.
Hidden achievement (Serving Mr. Aldous his Favorite Coffee): Put the Coffee Beans straight onto the stove, next to the Coffee Pot, to get Roasted Coffee Beans. Then grind them and add them to the pot.
Take the beans to the Grinder by the picture of the house. Grind them until you get Ground Coffee, then add it to the pot on the stove. Click the cup to get the Coffee Pot.
The door to the hallway that leads up to Aldous’s room is now slightly open. Click it and talk to Aldous so he raises his cup. Pour the coffee in, and he tells you not to be late for the hunt later.
Go back upstairs to the Grinder. The maid is there now, and something red is dripping onto the floor. Talk to her, and she sends you through the now-open door on the left to give William his coffee.
