Solve the Fish and Tree puzzles in Servant of the Lake and serve fish on toast to Aldous, William, and Alexandra.
Servant of the Lake: Opening the Reunion Walkthrough
Talk to Aldous by the fireplace. He wants to make a toast and asks you to fetch him a glass. Go to the right side of the room and open the bottom cabinet to find a glass and two boxes.
Take the Glass and give it to Aldous. He asks you to fill it, so go back to the cabinet. Click the top box and read the note.
Flip the buttons on the box until it reads 1753. Take the Bottle of Champagne, bring it to Aldous, and fill his glass. Talk to him, and he tells you William has arrived.
Go right, and you’ll find William at the window, as if that were perfectly normal. Open the window to let him in. Talk to him, and he says he’s thirsty too.
Hidden achievement (Soothing the Baby): Before you hand the Bottle of Champagne to William, give it to James, the baby.
Once he sits down, talk to him and give him the Bottle of Champagne. He asks for his favorite cigar, but first you have to clean up the mess he just made.
Click the smashed bottle pieces on the floor and fit them together. They show a route. Go back to the cabinet and enter that route into the smaller box.
Give William his cigar and light it with the matches. Keep clicking it until he swallows it and his mouth catches fire. The middle tooth releases water, and the other two move the water left and right.
Put out every flame and take the Spoon from inside his mouth. Talk to Aldous again. He asks whether everyone got their bite. Go to the right side of the room and check the table. There’s a note about preparing fish.
Fish Puzzle
Hint: Where is the fish?
Solution: Go to the picture above the fireplace and click the objects in the order the note lists them.
Puzzle complete: Fish Puzzle
Take the Fish, then pick up the pile of Wood on the left side of the room. Light the fire with your Matches and throw the Fish on it to get Grilled Fish. Go back to the table and drag it onto the toast.
The fish dish needs one last thing: protein. The only thing left to check in this room is the top part of the cabinet. Open it to find a tree.
Tree Puzzle
Hint: Think about how you can steer this scene in your favor.
Solution: Send the fly through every flower. Click the fly to make it move, and use the four tabs in the bottom right to change its path. Counting the flowers from left to right, set the tabs like this:
- Flower 1: Tabs 1, 2, and 3 left. Tab 4 right.
- Flower 2: Tabs 1, 2, and 4 left. Tab 3 right.
- Flower 3: Tabs 1 and 4 left. Tabs 2 and 3 right.
- Flower 4: Tab 1 right. Tabs 2, 3, and 4 left.
- Flower 5: Tabs 1 and 2 right. Tabs 3 and 4 left.
- Flower 6: All four tabs right.
Puzzle complete: Tree Puzzle
The fly drops Fly Eggs, which is your protein. Go back to the small table and add them to the Fish on Toast. Pick up each piece and take one to Aldous, William, and Alexandra.
When you’re ready for Aldous’s speech, tap his glass with the Spoon. He hasn’t been talking long before James starts crying.
Click Alexandra. She asks James to close his eyes, so help her by closing them.
She then starts a poem. Follow along with each line:
- The moon: Move the moon in the window up.
- Her sacrifice: Click James.
- Gold: Click her ring.
- A gem: Click her necklace.
- Her smile: Click her mouth.
- The clouds: Click the clouds in the window.
- Crying: Click her eyes.
When she hushes you because James is asleep again, go back to Aldous. William has downed a bottle of Champagne and fallen asleep. Several parts of his face can be clicked.
He reacts to actions like pulling his ear or lifting his hat. The trick is to click whatever he looks at. For example, if you pull his ear and he looks at his hat, click his hat next.
Once you’ve woken him, talk to Aldous again.
