Servant of the Lake: Cleaning the Floors Walkthrough
The afternoon starts back at the entrance. Go forward into the next room and up the stairs to find the maid. She asks for help cleaning the hallways, so click the bag on the table to get the Scrubber. The bag also holds a note from the maid, Kate.
Now you can help her clean. Start with the patch to her left, outside William’s room. Drag the Scrubber over the spots, and you’ll find they don’t just wipe away. There’s a method to this.

Hint: How are the spots different from each other?
Solution: Look at the dots inside each red spot. Start with the spot that has one dot inside, then the one with two, and keep going up to six.

With that patch clean, go into the room to the right of Kate. There’s another patch here, and this one needs a different approach.
Look at the direction the dots inside the red are pointing. Start with the spot at the top center. Then work your way left and down, across one to the right, down, right, and up.
Next, go back to the entrance and into the stove room.
Hidden achievement (Deep Cleaning): While you work on this spot, also scrub the stick-figure drawing of the siblings in the top left. It won’t wipe away, but scrubbing removes the dust and makes it visible.
For this patch, start with the single dots in the center of the red. Go from the spot with the smallest center dot to the one with the biggest, then finish with the two spots that have two dots.
Go back upstairs to the corridor outside William’s room. Kate is gone. Head through the door on the right, where she’s crouched down. Talk to her, and she asks whether you can hear the crying.
Inspect the bathroom door on the right and look through the keyhole. Open the balcony doors and click the figure of Aldous in the distance.
