Day 12 of Strange Antiquities brings the first moon puzzle. This guide covers the sun and moon Clue Card, the hall of shields, the three Resonant Objects and every request.
Strange Antiquities: Day 12 Walkthrough
Day 12, Monday
Locations to visit:
- The Catacombs, the grave between the sun and moon graves: a new object
- The Catacombs, the hall of shields: you cannot finish it yet
Clue Card
The card mentions the day on one side and the night on the other, so look for sun and moon symbols in the Catacombs. In the top row, find the grave with a cross that stands between a sun grave and a moon grave (the moon grave is marked 1781). Click it for a new object.

David Chafer’s Letter
A letter points to an object hidden in the hall of shields in the Catacombs. Open the Catacombs map and click the sarcophagus in the chamber full of shields at the lower left. You learn that you need the vapours of a Wandering Shroud.
Hints:
- Look up Wandering Shroud in the index. It leads to the Spirit Vault.
- The Spirit Vault is a receptacle with a strong smell of sulphur.
- Check the large green container with feathers. Scent and Sound smells of rotten eggs.
Use the green container here. This identifies it as the Spirit Vault, but it is empty, so you cannot go further yet. You can catch a Wandering Shroud on Day 13.
Customer 1: Nancy Irwin
Hints:
- Nancy was cursed by dark brambles. Her veins stand out black on her skin.
- The curses booklet points to the Black-Heart curse. Look it up in the index.
- It leads to the Lamb’s Syphon, made from the dried seed pod of a Sheepsnap plant drawn in the entry.
Give Nancy the object with a bright green orb that matches the seed pod. Colour and Composition shows green plant matter at the top. You get the book entry for the Truth Conduit.
Thaddeus White
Thaddeus, Eli’s brother, introduces himself and gives you a new object.
Simone Green’s Resonant Objects
Simone’s note asks for three Resonant Objects, lightest first and heaviest last.
- Look up Resonant in the index. It leads to the Resonance Compass, the plain compass from the newly unlocked shelves.
- Drag the compass around. Its needle points to three Resonant Objects: the Ambra, the Elva Stone and Corvan’s Might.
- Weigh them against each other.
- From left to right, place the Ambra, the Elva Stone and Corvan’s Might on the plinths.

A third hidden vault opens, locked by a moon puzzle:
- Press the button at the top right of the clock. The clock face flips to show a moon phase.
- Pull the clock’s pendulum down until its moon phase matches the moon on the vault door.
- Press the button again to flip back to the clock face. The hands now point to 4, 6 and 11.
- Press the buttons around the vault door that match those numbers, then press the diamond button at the bottom.

The door opens. You get a new object and the A Hidden Sanctum achievement.
Customer 2: Francesca Robertson
Hints:
- Francesca wants a Thaumic Needle. It is tall.
- Its weight drops when it is heated.
- Try the tall object with four empty holes in a diamond shape on the front.
Give Francesca that tall object. To test it, weigh it, heat it with a candle and weigh it again: it is lighter. You get the book entry for the Loem.
Customer 3: Audrey Bell
Audrey offers a choice between Morgan’s Folly and a Fortinance. Give her the Fortinance so that every ending achievement stays available. She then sends you a note on Day 15 that you need for her ending.
- Morgan’s Folly: it hides a symbol that makes people open to suggestion. The Imbuements section lists a Hypnosis symbol. Among the newly unlocked objects, find the one with two open diamonds and one closed diamond. Open the closed one to reveal the Hypnosis symbol.
- Fortinance: it restores strength and is made of stone or iron. Find the stone object with the Strength symbol from the Imbuements section.
Label both and give Audrey the Fortinance. You get the book entry for Tormund’s Bane.
