Day 8, Friday

If you left the poppy at Sadgill, Ennis Aleford drops by to welcome you into the cult. There is nothing to do on his visit.

Locations to visit:

  • I13, where two paths cross (overnight card): two new plants
  • E27 (Kentmere Eye note): a new plant
  • I27, Robert Barrow’s shop in Kendal: trade Copper Caledonian for Norwood, Mountain Astory and Haverage

Starting Card

Hints:

  • Draw one line from Lowick to Illgill Head and another from Foxfield to Crinkle Crags.
  • The plants grow where the two lines meet.

The lines cross at I13. Travel there for two new plants.

Customer 1: The Woman in the Jade Mask

Hints:

  • She asks for a plant you found through the looking glass yesterday.

Give her Elderphinium from Q30.

Customer 2: Grayce Enwright

Grayce leaves a note about Goldenlight that starts from Long Meg. You do not know where Long Meg is yet, so file the note for Day 10.

Customer 3: Anne Wood

Hints:

  • The amulet is draining her life. She needs a plant that lifts curses.

Give Anne Long Verecund.

Customer 4: Amos Duncan and the Desk Puzzle

Hints:

  • Amos’s cards look like the card you picked up from the shelf on Day 1. Their edges fit together.
  • Line the cards up in order, then press the matching symbols in the top-left corner of the desk.

Entering the symbols opens a secret compartment with new book pages, a Gosforth coin, a card for Robert Barrow’s shop and a letter about the Bryer’s Disc.

The Kentmere Eye Note

Hints:

  • Put the square hole of the Bryer’s Disc over Kentmere.
  • Check where the eye symbol on the disc points.

With the disc on Kentmere, the eye points to E27. Travel there for a new plant.

Robert Barrow’s Shop in Kendal

Hints:

  • Robert wants a fungus in exchange for three plants.

Travel to Kendal at I27 and trade Copper Caledonian for Norwood, Mountain Astory and Haverage.
