Chapter 1: Unexpected Misfortune Walkthrough

Section 1: Fatal Evening Visit

Open the menu and change an outfit once right away to unlock A Change of Attire.

Crime Scene Investigation

Check the knife, the victim’s body, the blood spatter on the floor and the blood on the coat sleeve.

  • “This evidence will …”: present the Bloodstained coat. Your first correct presentation unlocks Here’s Proof.

Section 2: Locked Room Secrets

Desk

Examine the drawer contents, both piles of books, the candle, the window frame, the calligraphy brushes and the inkstone.

External Autopsy

Look at the chest, limbs, body, collar, lips and hair. Finishing the autopsy unlocks Coroner’s Apprentice.

Wardrobe Lock

When you open the wardrobe with Afu, the combination from left to right is 1 2 4 3. Get it right on the first try for Master Locksmith.

Inside, examine the strip of cloth in the clothes pile, the black spot on the clothes and the floor of the wardrobe.

  • Doubt (peculiar woodchip), “Perhaps the woodchip came from this place”: present the Front door.

Section 3: Flaw in the Plan

This is the first real deduction sequence. If you are stuck, think about the door latch: if it was broken all along, someone could have entered before it was kicked open.

  • “If the person in the wardrobe …”: present Lo Pei.
  • “What is the reason …”: answer It was not of his own will.
  • “You got any evidence …”: the wardrobe smells of camphor wood, so present the Autopsy report.
  • “Please have a look …”: present the Woodchip.
  • “The person who murdered …”: present Lo Shih-wen.
  • “What could be missing …”: answer Handwritten manuscript.
  • “Point out the location …”: the room was already searched, so point to Lo Shih-wen himself.
