Chapter 5: The Confined Room Mystery Walkthrough
Section 1: The Lost Chapter
Young Shen has to escape a nightmare. Clear the whole run without touching an obstacle for Escape the Nightmare. If you hit something, let yourself get caught so the sequence restarts.
Section 2: Recalling the Scene
When asked whether to enter the memory of the London police station, say no three times for Painful Memories. If you skipped the full phonograph song in Chapter 2, you can listen to it here for Seven-star Lamp.
Section 3: Unlocking the Locked Room
- “There is an inconsistency between a certain item I saw earlier …”: present the Map of police stations.
- “If you claim my brother …”: present the Dagger.
Brainstorm
Wrong picks cost nothing here. For Exhaustive Exploration, try every other combination first and leave the correct chain for last: Returned the key, Through the door, Using a mechanism.
- “Firstly, the killer would need to use …”: present the Morse code paper reel.
Mechanism Reconstruction
Hint: the device needs something to carry the key, something to turn it once it reaches the hand, something to change its height and something to power everything.
Solution: (Key) → Morse code paper reel → (hand) → Candles → Stool → Phonograph. Choosing the phonograph as the power source also unlocks Eyes of Truth.
- On the phonograph, examine the hexagonal nut on the side.
- “I still need to point out …”: investigate the tonearm (the silver disc with the horn attached).
- “I suspect my brother had lost the ability …”: present The body is contorted or the Autopsy report.
- “This item made me realize …”: present A photo with my brother.
Crime Method Reconstruction
First placement: Asbestos mesh, bottle of kerosene, unburned scraps of paper.
“There should be another mechanism …”: Skylight → (Sky lantern) → bottle of kerosene → (Dagger), Candles.
Finishing the reconstruction unlocks The Confined Room Mystery.
