All Death at Fleming Manor guides

Episode 12, Off the Record, is the final case. It starts with three short questions, ends with your resignation letter, and decides which of the four endings you see.

Episode 12: Off the Record Walkthrough

Spoiler warning: the game opens this episode by asking players not to reveal what happens, and it adds a lot of new context to the earlier cases. The hints below stay vague, but the screenshots show the full answers.

Opening Questions

All three only test memory and reading comprehension.

  1. The very sharp blade is made of… Diamond.
  2. How did she get it? It came with the monkey’s cage.
  3. What haven’t we solved? John Walker’s murder.

Final Form: Resignation Letter

  • Avery has already explained exactly what happened.
  • You have a handful of documents to work from: the list of appointees from the tutorial, Daisy Brown’s ring and Derek Walker’s wanted poster.
  • If you don’t remember the inspector’s name, it is in your documents.
  • You may have noticed how much the narration has turned against Derek in earlier episodes. The ring is what really set it off.
  • The very first document you filled in used the list of appointees to name yourself (see the tutorial in Episode 1). Do it one last time.
  • Page 5 is not a deduction. It is the first ending choice: tell the truth or lie.

All Four Endings

After you submit the letter, you get one more choice: accept or reject the deal. Once you reach an ending, you can rewind to either the deal or the letter to see the others. Each ending unlocks its own achievement.

  • Ending 1: Be honest, then accept the deal.
  • Ending 2: Be honest, then reject the deal.
  • Ending 3: Lie, then accept the deal.
  • Ending 4: Lie, then reject the deal.
