Case of the Golden Idol: Case 3 Walkthrough
Case 3: The Dramatic Departure of an Outsider
The extra scroll asks which part of the will goes to each of the four heirs.
Words:
Outside
- Book carried by the man on the far left: Pear
- Parchment held by the man with the idol: Idol, Spontaneous, Combustion
- Paper on the yellow door: Adam, James
- Letter and newspaper on the man on the right: Edmund, David, Gorran, Cloudsley
Inside the house
- Coat of arms: Battley, Cubert
- White card on the table: Nicholas, Maker
- Family tree held by the attorney: Rose, Willard, Sebastian, Peter, Wright
- Black book by the fireplace: Aphorisms, Happy, Upset, Inspired, Scared
- Burnt will in the fireplace: House, Research
Hints:
- The attorney’s family tree does most of the work. Use it to place every relative.
- The crest above the door tells you whose house this is.
- The will describes each heir by family tie or personality. Match those descriptions to the people in the scene.
- The day of the week matters, but it is not written in an obvious place. Find the document that shows it.
- One heir keeps bragging about time spent in India, and another has no money at all. Their belongings give them away.
- There are twins in the family, yet no two faces match. One of them has their face hidden.
- The person on fire can only be identified by what they carry. The case title calls them an outsider, so they are neither family nor staff.
