All Psycho-Sleuth guides
Chapter 1 starts with Lyle waking up in a cremation room next to Kizuna and Lena, with a pile of ash where a body should be. The investigation is short. The trial is not, and every wrong pick costs health.
Chapter 1: Investigation and Trial Walkthrough
Investigation
Press R at any point to show hotspots.
First Look Around the Cremation Room
- Left side: the Unopenable Door, Light Switch, Dial and Life Detector.
- Talk to Kizuna, Lena and the Proxy.
- Center: the Sanctified Cremator.
- Right side: the Window, Sea Angel, Clock and Bone Grinder.
After the Rules Explanation
All three new clues are on the right side: Hair (Possibly Lena’s), Kizuna’s Bloodstained Mask and the Bones on the Floor.
Last Round of Clues
Check the Clock again, the Proxy (Kizuna’s Past), the Sanctified Cremator again (Bones inside Cremator), the updated Life Detector and the Impermeable Dial. Save manually before the trial starts.
Trial
Refutation vs. Hyper (1)
The lie is statement 3, “besides the Proxy, you’re the only one here.” Present Life Detector (3): there is at least one more person in the room.
- The Life Detector read… 4, when you first came in.
- Hyper’s logic that there are two victims is… Incorrect. There’s still only one body’s worth of ash.
- What could be combined with the mask to make a blunt weapon? Ashes and bone fragments.
- Why does the Life Detector show 3 right now? Someone alive is still hiding in the room.
- Present in scene, where is the killer hiding? The Sanctified Cremator, the only spot big enough for a person.
Refutation vs. Hyper (2)
This one is easy to lose track of. You’re arguing that the killer is inside the cremator right now. The problem is statement 3, “no one could hide in heat like that.” Present Six Hours Unconscious: the cremator has had hours to cool down.
Bad End Choice: Turn On the Cremator or See Who the Killer Is
Turning on the cremator gives the bad end The Death of Lena, which is an achievement. Save first if you want it. Pick See Who the Killer Is to keep going.
Refutation vs. Hyper (3)
The problem is statement 1, “the victim was burned to death.” Present Bloodstained Knife. None of you are hurt, so the blood came from the victim’s wounds.
- Present in scene, the killer’s hiding place is… the Sanctified Cremator again, in the hollow beneath the plate.
- Present in scene, the evidence that Lena didn’t use the knife: her clothes. Click on her body; there’s no blood on them.
- Why did the killer have to burn bloody evidence in the cremator? They wore the victim’s clothes, then burned them.
Refutation vs. Hyper (4)
The problem is statement 1, “Besides you and Lena, there’s no one in this room.” Present Life Detector (3) again.
- Present in scene, which three things have changed? The Dial, the Life Detector and the Clock.
- The missing thing is… the left side.
- The person affecting us is… Kizuna.
- The evidence of Kizuna’s Pathosync: Kizuna’s Past. A Pathosync comes from a mental illness, and hers is hemispatial neglect.
Refutation vs. Kizuna (1)
The problem is statement 3, “you have no proof I touched anything.” Present Bones on Scene; only the right half is there.
- Which clue proves Kizuna could not commit the murder? The dial switch. Turning it on means turning it to the left side.
- Who activated the Sanctified Cremator? Lena.
Case Summary
Fill the slots left to right in the order things happened. These are the slides that need a pick:
- Slide II, why did Lena have to obey Kizuna? Lyle taken hostage.
- Slide IV, where were the bloodstained clothes placed to erase the evidence? Corpse and clothes in the Cremator.
- Slide VI, what words did Lena carve? I’m the culprit.
- Slide VII, what other preparation did Kizuna make? Staged the scene with the knife, corpse and mask.
- Slide VIII, who activated the Pathosync? Kizuna, the picture of her hand glowing red.
Refutation vs. Kizuna (2)
The problem is statement 4, “just now, while you were unconscious.” Present Testimony of Kizuna: she claims she was out cold as long as you were. Finishing the chapter unlocks the I Am the Culprit achievement.
