All Leaf it Alone guides
Hometown, the yard you start Leaf it Alone in, has 18 achievements. Five of them come with the story as you open new areas. The rest depend on how you play, and once you finish the game in the secret room, anything you skipped is gone for that save.
Three of them shape the whole run. Craftsman and Work smart, not hard fit together in one slow, careful playthrough, while Need for Sweep wants a fast second run under 40 minutes.
How to Get All 18 Hometown Achievements in Leaf it Alone
Before You Start
- Playthroughs: Two (one careful run, one speed run)
- Missable: Everything except the five area unlocks. Craftsman, Work smart, not hard and Need for Sweep are the ones that decide how you play.
Important:
- Never repair a leaf inlet in your first run, or Craftsman is lost.
- Don’t sell bagged leaves until the Entrance, Basement and Pool bonuses are active. The $700 is very tight otherwise.
- Grab all 8 photos and do Trashketball and Dunk like you’re drunk before you end the game.
Story Achievements
I am speed
Unlock the garage area
Hold the button in the shed until the garage door on the TV is fully open, let go, and run for the garage before it closes.
You need Sprint (clean the Court) or the speed bonus from the Driveway or Front Yard. Holding the button while standing in the shed doorway buys you a little extra time.
Shed Happens
Unlock the shed area
Clean up the Basement, which you reach through the garage.
Vacationist
Unlock the grill area
Clean up the Shed area to get the key to the grill area, then go through the wooden gate.
King of the Jungle
Unlock the greenhouse area
Clear every leaf in the Pool, inside and around the rim. That gives you the key to the big gate in the grill area.
Infiltrator
Unlock the secret room
Clean up the Greenhouse area. The secret room is behind a vent in the Basement, and you need Crouch (clean the Swings) to get through it.

Novice Investor
Buy any item
Buy anything in the shed. The Medium Leaf Bag for $0.75 is the cheapest option.
Almighty
Acquire bag tying, sprint and crouch ability
- Bag tying: clean the Porch
- Sprint: clean the Court
- Crouch: clean the Swings
Seal the Deal
Get 5000 leaves into tied bags
This happens on its own as you play. A fully upgraded bag holds 500 leaves, so ten full bags are enough.
Leaf of Faith
Jump into a pile of 1000 leaves
Push 1,000 leaves into one pile with the rake or the leaf blower and jump in. A corner of the pool works well.
Trashketball
Dump a leaf bag while being at least 15 meters away from the trash bin
Stand where the player marker is on the map, aim a little above the bin, then walk forward, jump, and throw while you’re in the air. The jump gives the bag enough extra distance.
Some players throw from the far wall of the Court instead: sprint, jump and throw.
Dunk like you’re drunk
Hit the basket with a basketball, a beach ball and a leaf bag
The hoop is in the Court. Score with all three:
- Leaf bag: any tied bag
- Basketball: two guides put it in the garage, another next to the hoop
- Beach ball: in the pool
The soccer ball in the Front Yard isn’t needed.

Collect all mysterious photos
There are eight photos. The map shows where each one is.
Photo 1: Porch – on the railing on the left side.
Photo 2: Shed – on the pinboard to the left as you walk in, in the bottom corner of the board with two posters.
Photo 3: Court – up behind the basketball backboard.
Photo 4: Garage – on the ground by the right wall, just inside the door.
Photo 5: Swings – on the electrical box on the house wall. Turn left as you leave the garage through the back door.
Photo 6: Basement – on the left, inside a shelf next to a big wine bottle.
Photo 7: Grill – left of the entrance, on the foundation next to the wooden door.
Photo 8: Greenhouse – inside the scarecrow’s jacket.
Senior Investor
Buy all tool upgrades
Max out every upgrade for the hand, the rake and the leaf blower. In the Craftsman run, leave this until Work smart, not hard has popped.

Clean up all leaves
Clean all 13 areas: Porch, Driveway, Front Yard, Entrance, Court, Garage, Swings, Basement, Shed, Grill, Pool, Maze and Greenhouse.
Perfectionist
Complete all objectives in the game
Finish every objective in your diary. Some objectives need leaves to complete, so do them before the last area is clean.
Run Challenge Achievements
Craftsman
Complete the game without repairing any leaf inlets
Leaf inlets are the small vents at the base of walls and in the ground. Repairing even one costs you this achievement, and it’s easy to misclick while grabbing leaves next to them.
Once you have the leaf blower, blow leaves away from the inlets before you pick them up. Do this in the same run as Work smart, not hard.
Work smart, not hard
Earn an immense number of shekleaves ($700)
A leaf is worth $0.004 at the start and $0.007 at most, and Hometown has 102,400 of them. That’s about $717 from leaves in the best case. Clearing the Garage pays $7.50 and the Grill pays $15, which puts the ceiling around $739.
Three areas raise leaf value by 25% each: the Entrance, the Basement and the Pool (once it’s half clean). Until all three are active, put everything into tied bags and stockpile them.
- Clear the Porch. It pays $4 and unlocks bag tying.
- Buy 2 Greedy Grasp, 2 Dexterity, Fluid Picker and one bag upgrade.
- Clear the Front Yard or the Court into bags. Don’t sell them.
- Open the garage with the button in the shed and get inside. Use parkour if you picked the Front Yard, or Sprint if you picked the Court.
- Clear the Garage into bags. Spend the $7.50 bonus on 2 more Greedy Grasp and 1 Dexterity.
- Clear the Entrance for the first +25%.
- Clear the Basement into bags for the second +25%. This opens the Shed.
- Clear the Shed into bags. This opens the grill area.
- Clear about half of the Pool (around 9,000 leaves) into bags for the last +25%.
- Now sell your stockpile. Buy the remaining Greedy Grasp and Dexterity levels and the last bag upgrade.
- Clear the Maze. Its bonus finishes your collection speed upgrades.
- Clean every remaining area. The achievement should pop near the end.
The guides don’t fully agree on one point: do you need to hold $700 at once, or just earn it over the run? Two of them say total earnings count. The safe route is to skip any upgrade you don’t need until the achievement pops.
Need for Sweep
Complete the game in under 40 minutes
Do this in a separate run, since the route repairs the Pool and Greenhouse vents. Pausing stops the timer, and backup saves along the way save a lot of retries.
- As soon as you load in, use the free vent to the right of the Porch for some quick cash. Skip Fluid Picker for now.
- Clean the Porch for bag tying. Buy 3 Greedy Grasp, 2 Dexterity and the Medium Leaf Bag ($0.75).
- Clean the Driveway for the speed bonus. Buy 2 Dexterity, 1 Greedy Grasp and the Large Leaf Bag ($3.49).
- Make a backup save. Stand in the shed doorway and hold the button until the garage is fully open, press it a few more times, then speed-walk to the garage. You’ll only just make it.
- Clean the Basement. Max out Greedy Grasp and Dexterity; Fluid Picker is fine to buy now.
- Clean the Shed. Save $15 for the Pool vent and buy the Rake ($7.49).
- Buy 1 Handle Length and sweep the Pool leaves into the pool vent.
- Buy 1 Leaf Stickiness. While you sweep toward the vent, raise Leaf Stickiness to 3, Sweep Radius to 3, add 1 more Handle Length, and save $25 for the Greenhouse vent.
- Clean the Swings with the rake and fully upgrade it.
- Clean the Greenhouse, then climb through the vent to the end.
Leaf it Alone DLCs Achievements
Both DLC maps are free, and each adds 18 achievements to the same Steam list, so a full 100% means finishing them too.
Castle DLC Achievements
