How the Bunbook Works
Personality: Background on who the bunny is. It does not change anything in gameplay.
Friendship: A core part of the game. Your friendship with a bunny shows as hearts, and each heart takes 20 friendship points. A caretaking activity such as a bun run or brushing gives 5 points. Petting gives 3. Friendship only goes up and can never drop.
As friendship grows, the bunny leaves bigger tips and is more likely to tip in golden carrots. It also asks for caretaking activities more often.
Friendship Status: Your status depends on how many hearts you have with the bunny:
- Strangers: 0–1 hearts
- Acquaintances: 2 hearts
- Friends: 3–5 hearts
- Good friends: 6–9 hearts
- Besties: 10 hearts
Visits: How many separate times the bunny has come to your island.
Resident: Once you are besties, you can invite the bunny to live on your island. A resident stays until you evict it. You can have up to 5 residents at once.
Favorite Toys: Each bunny has 3. They have no gameplay effect. A favorite toy shows up here the first time the bunny plays with it.
Keepsake: The gift a bunny gives you at bestie level. The Keepsakes section below covers them all and shows each one without hiding it.
Headwear: Lets you change the bunny’s hat. Any bunny that wears hats can wear all of them, but some bunnies can’t wear hats at all.
Regular Bunnies
Regular bunnies have no special requirements. They can turn up at random as long as there is something on your island, and the more items you place, the more bunnies will want to visit.

Special Bunnies
Special bunnies only visit when you meet an extra requirement. Making one a resident removes that requirement. Otherwise, they work the same as regular bunnies.

- Mushroom items (Kinoko): Mushroom Houses, Mushroom Seats, both Mushroom Lamps, Kinoko’s Big Mushroom, Mushroom Clusters, Mushroom Trees, and regular Mushrooms.
- Flower items (Poppy): Daisies, Chrysanthemums, Tulips, Windflowers, Hibiscus, Daisy’s Flower Basket, Button’s Wheelbarrow, and Lulu’s Bell Blossoms.
Toshi’s trees: Not every tree counts for Toshi. These are the tree types he accepts. Combine them in any way until you reach 20.
Trees that don’t count: The trees below are not counted toward Toshi’s 20. They were most likely added to the mobile version after Toshi, so his counter does not include them.
Keepsakes
A bunny gives you its keepsake when you become besties. Each keepsake is a one-time item that you can’t buy again, with a few exceptions:
- Mugi’s crown: Headwear section of the shop, 1 golden carrot.
- Maron’s hardhat: Headwear section of the shop, 1 golden carrot.
- Boo’s lantern: Toys section of the shop, 2 golden carrots.
If you sell a keepsake, click its registered entry in the Bunbook to get it back.
