Solve the deductions in Red Chat Ritual – TSUMIMI TIME with official hints for the moments you get stuck.
Red Chat Ritual Tsumimi Time: Hints and FAQ
Only the Basic Controls section is spoiler-free. The sections after it give chapter hints and exact actions.
Basic Controls
FAQ01: Keyword Not Selectable in Deduction
The search keywords you pick up from streams and investigation are not the same as the investigation files you use in deduction. To turn a keyword into evidence:
- Search the keyword on the in-game social media or the map.
- Read the results and look into the relevant information.
- Get the key information as an investigation file and confirm it shows up in your file list.
- Use that file in the deduction.
Having the keyword on its own does not always give you the evidence the deduction needs.
FAQ02: No Matching Investigation File
Go through these checks in order:
- Do you have a related search keyword?
- Did you search it on the in-game social media and the map?
- Was the information you found added to your investigation files?
If you have the keyword but no file, look again at the search results and the related replies. If you have no keyword, you may need to revisit a Mega Chat choice or something you did earlier. For exact actions in Chapters 1 and 2, see FAQ21 and FAQ22.
FAQ03: Search Results but No New File
Look past the search results themselves.
- On social media, open a matching post and follow its replies. You don’t have to write a reply yourself.
- On the map, select a location the search found to open its details.
- After reading the information, open the investigation files from the home screen and see if a new file was added. Select a file to read its details.
Getting a search result and getting information for deduction are two separate steps. Not every result gives you an investigation file.
FAQ04: Not Sure Which Blank a File Fits
Don’t go by the file title alone. Read the file’s details next to the whole deduction prompt.
- Work out what the blank wants: a person, a location, an event, a piece of evidence, or another kind of information.
- Open a likely file and read what it proves.
- Read the text before and after the blank and check that the full sentence makes sense.
If none of your candidates holds the information you need, go through FAQ02 instead of shuffling them again and again.
FAQ05: Saving and Loading
The save and load icons are at the top of the home screen.
- Save: Open the save screen, pick a slot, and confirm as the on-screen instructions say.
- Load: Open the load screen, look through your saves, and select the one you want.
Save on the home screen before you enter a stream or try something different. This makes it easier to go back and change your choices. Before you overwrite a slot, make sure it doesn’t hold a save you still need.
FAQ06: Fast-Forwarding Streams
- Ctrl fast-forward (new): Hold Ctrl during a stream to skip ahead at ultra-high speed to the Mega Chat choices. Use it when you replay a scene to get back to a choice. Don’t hold Ctrl if you want to see dialogue and scenes you haven’t watched yet.
- Auto and double-speed playback: Each press of the Auto button switches between auto, double-speed auto, and normal playback. This is separate from Ctrl fast-forward.
Ctrl fast-forward was added in version 1.0.1. If you don’t have it, check the Steam announcements to see how the update is rolling out.
FAQ07: Investigating vs. Working
Searching social media or the map moves in-game time forward. Part-time jobs also take up the working period shown in their listing.
- Check the day, time period, and money at the bottom of the home screen.
- Decide which keywords you want to look into and how much you plan to spend on Mega Chats and gifts.
- When picking a job, weigh its pay against its working period, such as morning, afternoon, or all day.
Searches and jobs both cost time, so plan the investigations you want to finish before you choose what to do.
FAQ08: Not Enough Money
Open the part-time job menu from the home screen and look at the hours and pay on offer. After you select Apply, check the working period and reward on the confirmation screen before you continue.
Mega Chats and gifts both cost money. Before you buy anything, think about how much you want to keep for the stream. You don’t have to buy every item.
FAQ09: Demo Saves
Demo saves don’t transfer to the full game, so start a new game in the full version. This only applies to moving from the demo to the full game. Whether saves carry over between updates of the full game is covered in each update’s announcement.
FAQ10: Reporting Bugs
If the controls or display still don’t work after these steps, post on the game’s Steam discussion board. Include:
- Your language, chapter, in-game day, and time period
- What went wrong and what you did right before it
- A screenshot of the problem
- Whether it happens again when you repeat the action
- Whether your game is on the latest available version
Mark any post with story or deduction details as a spoiler. Don’t share personal or account information.
Investigation and Deduction Hints
These answers cover gift conditions and chapter clues. Read only the questions you need.
FAQ11: The Most Expensive Mega Chat
A higher price doesn’t decide the outcome. Different Mega Chat choices can give different keywords, and gifts or your earlier progress can play a part too.
After you send a Mega Chat, check whether you got a keyword, then look it up on social media or the map. If the same choice doesn’t give you the information you expected, see FAQ12 on gift timing and routes.
FAQ12: No Special Reaction to a Gift
The item isn’t the only condition. When you sent it and which route you’re on also matter.
- Make sure you sent the right item and finished the gift action.
- Make sure you sent it by the required time before the related stream.
- Make sure the hint you’re following fits your chapter and route.
Buying every item on offer won’t guarantee the same reaction. FAQ21 and FAQ22 give examples for Chapters 1 and 2.
FAQ13: Items Another Player Has but You Don’t
Wishlist items, Mega Chats, and the investigation files you can get may change by route.
When you compare progress with someone else, check the chapter, in-game day, and earlier deduction results. If an item is missing, confirm that the advice fits your progress before you buy more items at random.
FAQ14: How Deduction Results Affect Routes
Deduction results do more than let you reach the next chapter. They decide both your progress and your route branch. Sometimes one specific answer matters, not just how accurate the deduction is overall.
Reaching the next chapter doesn’t mean you’ve met the conditions for a different ending. If you want another outcome, look back at earlier deductions and how you gathered information, not just your latest choice.
FAQ15: Which Save to Load
It depends on what you missed:
- Keyword found but not investigated: a point where you can still search it.
- Missed Mega Chat choice: before that choice in the stream.
- Missed gift deadline: a point where you can still send the gift in time.
- Route set by an earlier deduction: before that deduction result was decided.
Check whether you have a save at the right point. You can’t always fix the missing condition from where you are now, and you can’t load a point you never saved.
FAQ16: Chapter 1 Location Clues
For the third blank, think about travel time and the distance between places.
Read the sentence around the blank. Does it want a place name, or how far that place is from somewhere else? Then compare the details in investigation files about travel and distance.
If no candidate has that information, check FAQ02 before you rearrange your answers.
FAQ17: Chapter 2 Missing Evidence
For one of the two pieces of evidence, think about something made to look like a human figure. Compare the prompt with your files: is it asking for a person, or for an object that resembles that person?
If you can’t find a fitting file, check whether you looked into the keywords tied to objects seen in the stream. For the other piece of evidence, see FAQ18.
FAQ18: Chapter 2 Second Evidence
Think about a gift that can be worn. Compare the investigation file about what was given with what the prompt wants you to work out from the two pieces of evidence.
Don’t confuse gifts given within the story with the items you buy from the wishlist.
FAQ19: Chapter 3 Character Relationships
For the third blank, think about family ties and what the person in question believes. Don’t just hunt for a name that fits. Read the nearby text about whose ideas were passed down.
Open the related investigation files and compare how the characters are related with what they believe.
FAQ20: Wording Doesn’t Match in Your Language
Compare the file’s full description with the whole deduction prompt. For the Chapter 2 evidence, see FAQ17 and FAQ18.
If the wording still leaves the link unclear, report it on the game’s Steam discussion board. Include your language, chapter, in-game day, and screenshots of the full prompt and the candidate file’s title and description. Mark the post as containing deduction spoilers.
Specific Actions
These answers give away gifts, deadlines, and stream choices. Stop here if you’d rather find them on your own.
FAQ21: Chapter 1 Newspaper
This answer reveals a gift, its deadline, and a Mega Chat choice.
- Send the potato gun by Day 4.
- In the Day 5 stream, during the newspaper scene, pick the Mega Chat that asks when the newspaper is from.
- Make sure you got the search keyword about that day’s local newspaper.
- Once you can investigate, search the newspaper keyword on social media and follow the replies. The clue to look for is the area where the newspaper circulates.
- Open your investigation files and compare what you found with the deduction prompt.
These steps get you the information about the newspaper. If the gift deadline has passed, load a save from a point where you can still send the gift in time. Without one, you’ll have to start a new game to meet this condition.
FAQ22: Chapter 2 Religion
These steps only work if the stun gun is on your gift list. If it isn’t, see FAQ13 on route differences.
- Send the stun gun by Day 6.
- In the Day 7 stream, during the relevant scene, pick the Mega Chat asking Tsumimi to examine the floor.
- Make sure you got the search keyword about a religion that grants an “ideal …”.
- Once you can investigate, search that keyword on social media and read the replies that mention old occult forums or archived discussions. Follow up on what they point to and read the investigation files you get.
The same Mega Chat can lead to a different reaction depending on when you sent the gift and your earlier progress. If the deadline has passed, you need a save from a point where you can still send the gift in time. Without one, you’ll have to start a new game to meet this condition.
