Playrooms: 100% Achievement Guide

Playrooms
All Playrooms guides

Playrooms has 30 Steam achievements. Most of them come from regular progress: entering each room, collecting every ball inside it, filling the eight ball pits, and buying all the door keys.

The rest take more effort. You need to find every sparrow and office item, track down a whale in a maze, fill a pit with one colour, max out every upgrade, and beat Hardcore mode. You can’t soft-lock yourself, so a mistake never blocks your progress.

How to Unlock All 30 Playrooms Achievements

Open stats.exe on the PC to track your progress. The counts for objects and sparrows sit under Overview, in the Progress section at the bottom. Each count stays hidden until you pick up your first object or sparrow.

Every ball pit you fill unlocks something new:

  • Pit 1 (1,500 balls): Sprint
  • Pit 2 (2,500 balls): Coffee
  • Pit 3 (5,000 balls): Crouch
  • Pit 4 (10,000 balls): Scanner
  • Pit 5 (20,000 balls): Fruit Basket
  • Pit 6 (40,000 balls): More robots (not confirmed)
  • Pit 7 (40,000 balls): Unlock unknown
  • Pit 8 (80,000 balls): Unlock unknown

Sparrows don’t chirp until you collect them, so don’t count on sound to find them.

Find the whale

Once all eight pits are full, you can leave whenever you like. The exit is the double push door at the back of the Playroom.

Colour is a distraction achievement iconColour is a distraction
Fill a ball pit with 1 single colour

This one is easy to ruin by accident. These tips keep it simple:

  • Use only the first pit. It needs just 1,500 balls, far fewer than any later pit.
  • Pick a colour that’s easy to tell apart from the others, even in the dark. Blue works well.
  • Buy Quick Grab. It shortens the wait between pickups.
  • Skip the Ball Magnet. It doesn’t let you choose which balls you pick up.
  • Vacuum Collect is optional. It lets you hold LMB instead of clicking, but it’s easy to go too fast and grab the wrong colour.
  • Big Pockets is your call. If you carry a lot of one colour and grab one wrong ball, the whole load is spoiled.
  • Balls seem to drop into the pit in random order, and you can’t take balls back out of a pit.
  • If you pick up a wrong ball, empty the whole bag into a different pit. Those balls still earn money and upgrades and help you reach the next room’s key.
  • Don’t buy the Wall Vent in any room. Some balls start inside the vents, and a vent pulls in every ball near it. Those balls go deep, so you never see them.
  • Vents, robots, and anything else that places balls for you drop them into the pits in order of completion. Only place balls by hand for this achievement.
