In this mission we are asked to deliver the EXO pilot.
One of the most unpredictable tasks in the game involves capturing a pilot who falls from a defeated Europan Exo. You definitely won’t miss him when he lands on the ground. However, the chance of the pilot spawning is extremely small; I managed to get the pilot after defeating around ten EXOs.
You have two options for completing the quest:
- Wait for NPCs to kill the Exoskeleton: Exoskeletons spawn on almost any map, but they can primarily be killed in two locations: Scorched Enclave and Ashen Mesa. If you choose this option, simply find an Exoskeleton and follow it until it meets its demise.
- Kill the Exoskeleton yourself: For this approach, the easiest method is detailed in the “Eurasia – RED BARON’S LEGACY” guide. A regular Exoskeleton emerges from the same hangar, allowing you to shoot it as described in the task.
Remember that the Exoskeleton has a lot of health, and if you decide to engage it directly, you’ll need to inflict a significant amount of damage. Maneuvering around corners will help you avoid taking too much damage.
For the quickest kill, utilize height differences: if you’re on a higher level than the EXO, it may struggle to climb narrow stairs and will wander helplessly below, occasionally shooting at you. Automatic shotguns like the AA-12 are particularly effective for taking down EXOs.
Once you defeat the Exoskeleton, look for the pilot writhing in pain near the burning EXO. Pick him up, as he will be counted as a large object in your inventory. Finally, successfully evacuate with the pilot to complete the quest. Done!
