Sorry We’re Closed: How to Get All 4 Endings

This guide lists the steps necessary to achieve each of the Sorry We’re Closed’s four endings.

Sorry We’re Closed: How to Get All 4 Endings

Sorry We’re Closed has four endings, based on how you handle three different questlines in the game. Each ending is tied to a particular character; near the end of the game, you must choose a character to side with from all the ones you’ve unlocked. The game’s first three endings do not lock each other out, so if you want to see all of them, you could fulfill the unlock criteria for all three of them and then keep a save from before you make this choice. A second playthrough is still required to see the fourth and final ending.

Note: There may be alternative choices that lead to the same endings, particularly if you want the “Indecisive” achievement. This guide will list the “safest” way to get each ending, but if you’d like this achievement, I will note which options are safe to pick based on my own testing.

Ending 1: Robyn

Break the Curse
Complete Robyn’s Ending.

Robyn’s ending is always available no matter what choices you make. Robyn does have their own associated quest, but it doesn’t matter how you handle it. I saw elsewhere that certain choices during this quest would lock you out of this ending, but from my own experience, that does not seem to be the case. Which makes sense, since otherwise it would technically be possible to lock yourself out of any ending.

Ending 2: Clarissa

TheRight-Hand
Complete Clarissa’s ending.

Clarissa’s ending is a little more involved, and requires some sidequesting in town. The ultimate goal for Clarissa’s ending is to break up Darrel and Oakley.

Clarissa Day 1

On Day 1, you have the option of talking to Oakley, who asks you to talk to Darrel to remind him about something. Whether or not you do this does not appear to impact what ending you get.

Clarissa Day 2

Speak with Clarissa outside of Darrel’s bar. She will ask you to join her in her quest to undermine Darrel. Agree to this request. Note: I do not know if you need to do this before you do everything else, but doing it is the safe option (and you get some interesting dialogue if you talk to her, if nothing else).

After speaking with Clarissa, go to Oakley’s and speak with him (you might not need to do this, but it gives context for what you’re about to do). Then, go to Darrel’s bar and speak with Darrel. Darrel says he has a gift for Oakley, and will ask you if he should give it now or give it later. Tell Darrel to give it now, and a cutscene will play.

After you clear Day 2’s dungeon and enter The Hotel, you’ll find Clarissa at the end of the hall. Speak with her, and she’ll offer you a camera with one shot left on it. Head through the door and downstairs, where you’ll find Darrel and Dan arguing in front of a door. Go through the door, then head to the left-hand side of the screen. Darrel will be standing in front of the door to the kitchen. Talk to him, then go through the door. Inside, you will find a table you can check with some rather unsavory meat items on it. Use the camera from your inventory to take a photo of it.

Clarissa Day 3

Go to Oakley’s and speak with him. When prompted, show him the photograph you took the previous day. This will fulfill the unlock criteria for Clarissa’s ending.

Ending 3: Chamuel

Love Prevails
Complete Chamuel’s Ending

Chamuel’s ending is about as involved as Clarissa’s. The ultimate goal of this ending is to get Chamuel to reconcile with his demon boyfriend.

Chamuel Day 2

Speak with Chamuel in the yard outside the church. He’ll ask you what he should do about his boyfriend. Tell him not to end the relationship. Chamuel will then give you a letter, and tell you to mail it.

To mail the letter, go to the postbox outside Darrel’s bar and use your Third Eye to see Postman Creed. Speak with him, then use the letter from your inventory to get him to mail it.

Note: If you want the “Indecisive” achievement while going for this ending, you could take the opposite approach and tell Chamuel to end the relationship on this day. However, there’s an extra step you will need to take later on.

Chamuel Day 3

Speak with Chamuel again. When he asks if you could love a demon, tell him “yes”. If you mailed Chamuel’s letter on Day 2, you’ll have fulfilled the unlock criteria for Chamuel’s ending.

If you told Chamuel to end the relationship on Day 2, but said “yes” on this day, then later during the main story, you will be given one more chance to speak to Chamuel to confirm the ending you want. If you want Chamuel’s ending, pick up the plushie item and then show it to Chamuel by using it from your inventory.

Ending 4: Lucy

The Devil You Know
Complete Lucy’s ending.

Lucy’s ending is the trickiest to unlock. Instead of having its own questline, it’s instead tied to the three quests listed above. Pursuing Lucy’s ending will also lock you out of the Clarissa and Chamuel endings.

For Lucy’s ending, you need three items: an angel’s halo, a shattered demon’s heart, and the true name of The Duchess.

Lucy will speak to you on Days 2 and 3 with her offer, and will provide instructions for how to get the three items she needs. If you get locked out of her ending, she will very helpfully let you know by saying “the deal’s off”.

Angel’s Halo

To get the angel’s halo, you need to make specific choices during Robyn’s quest.

Angel’s Halo Day 2

After speaking with Robyn to head to Day 2’s dungeon, Robyn will ask for your help. It doesn’t matter what you pick, since the important choice on Day 3 will be available either way.

Angel’s Halo Day 3

After finishing the Day 3 dungeon, Robyn will ask you to give them an item dropped by the dungeon’s boss. Give them the item. You will receive the halo later as you progress the main story.

Shattered Demon’s Heart

To get the demon’s heart, you need to take the alternative approach to Chamuel’s questline, and get him to break up with his demon boyfriend.

Shattered Demon’s Heart Day 2

Speak with Chamuel in the yard outside the church. When he asks what to do about his boyfriend, tell him to end the relationship. Chamuel will then give you a letter, and ask you to give it to Beloved. Beloved can be found in the church. Approach Beloved and use the letter from your inventory.

Note: If you mail the letter anyway, it’s still possible to get this item based on your Day 3 choices, but I have not done so personally and cannot confirm what extra steps, if any, are needed during the main story.

Shattered Demon’s Heart Day 3

Speak with Chamuel again. When he asks if you could love a demon, tell him “no”.
After following these steps, you will receive the demon heart as you progress the main story.

The True Name of the Duchess

To get the true name of The Duchess, you need to take the alternative approach to Clarissa’s questline, and repair Oakley and Darrel’s relationship.

True Name Day 1

On Day 1, you have the option of talking to Oakley, who asks you to talk to Darrel to remind him about something. Whether or not you do this does not appear to impact Lucy’s questline.

True Name Day 2

Go to Darrel’s bar and speak with him. When he asks whether to give his gift to Oakley immediately or wait until later, tell him to wait until later. Afterwards, go to Oakley’s diner and speak with Oakley.

On the counter will be a recipe for pain au chocolat. Use the camera from your inventory to take a photo of the recipe.

True Name Day 3

Go to Oakley’s diner and show him the photograph you took the previous day. This will trigger a cutscene, and you will get the true name of The Duchess at the end of it.
