Potato Please: 100% Achievement Guide

Potato Please

Most of the achievements in Potato Please come naturally as you peel potatoes, buy machines, and follow the story. A few ask for something specific, like feeding the dog, walking out past the perimeter, or riding the cableway on a sack.

The endings need a bit of planning. Save at the train levers to collect all three in a row, and decide early how you treat Pavel, because one ending achievement depends on his letters across the whole game.

How to Get All 20 Achievements in Potato Please

Before You Start

A half-peeled potato and a peeler on a cutting board in the warehouse kitchen
  • Time to 100%: 4–5 hours
  • Playthroughs: One, plus reloading a save for the endings
  • Missable: Your Own Executioner

Important:

  • Read the Your Own Executioner section before Pavel’s first letters arrive. Your replies over the whole game decide his fate, and by the ending it’s too late to change it.
  • At the levers in the train cab, make a manual save. Loading it lets you get all three endings one after another.

Potatoes

First Cut achievement iconFirst Cut
Peel your first potato.

Unlocks with the very first potato you peel, so you can’t miss it.

A Thousand Peels achievement iconA Thousand Peels
Peel 1,000 potatoes, by hand or by machine.

Potatoes peeled by hand and by machines both count. It unlocks on its own as you play.

Ten Thousand achievement iconTen Thousand
Peel 10,000 potatoes.

Hand and machine peeling add up here as well. Once you have machines, one playthrough is easily enough.

Old School achievement iconOld School
Peel 500 potatoes by hand. No machines needed.

Only potatoes you peel by hand count. Machine work doesn’t. Using the “Muscle memory” skill is allowed.

These Hands Were Made for Peeling achievement iconThese Hands Were Made for Peeling
Peel 1,000 potatoes by hand.

Works like Old School, but you need 1,000 potatoes. The “Muscle memory” skill is allowed here too.

Shift and Automation

Warmed Up achievement iconWarmed Up
Finish the warm-up shift.

Comes from the warm-up at the very start of the shift. It’s part of the story, so you’ll barely notice it.

Industrial Revolution achievement iconIndustrial Revolution
Let the machines do the peeling.

Buy your first peeling machine from the shop and load some potatoes into it. The achievement unlocks as soon as the machine peels one.

Fully Automated achievement iconFully Automated
Let the machines handle the heavy lifting.

The full line has to run without you, the Claw Crane and the cableway included. You buy every part of it as the story moves on, so this one unlocks by itself.

Employee of the Month achievement iconEmployee of the Month
Your dedication has been recognized.

Reach rank 21, the highest rank. Your rank rises as you work, and if you don’t skip upgrades, a normal playthrough gets you there.

The Quota achievement iconThe Quota
Peel every last potato.

Meet the quota and peel the pile down to its last potato. The story brings you to this point right before the ending.

Odds and Ends

A Heart of Gold achievement iconA Heart of Gold
Even the smallest act of kindness matters.

The people of Varenka send letters asking you to share some potatoes. Sending them once is enough.

Good Boy achievement iconGood Boy
A little kindness goes a long way.

Feed the dog near the warehouse.

One Last Puff achievement iconOne Last Puff
Take a moment to clear your lungs.

From time to time your character wants a cigarette. When that happens, take a smoke break and smoke it all the way to the end.

No Escape achievement iconNo Escape
Your shift isn’t over yet.
  1. During the shift, walk away from the warehouse in any direction.
  2. When the loudspeaker tells you to return to your post, ignore it and keep going.
  3. Cross the outer edge of the perimeter. The achievement unlocks and a cutscene starts.
Unauthorized Passenger achievement iconUnauthorized Passenger
This is not an approved transport method.

You need to ride the cableway for at least 3 meters while holding on to a sack on the hook.

  1. Buy the Sack Cableway upgrade from the shop.
  2. Fill a sack with potatoes and put it on the loading spot at the cableway station.
  3. Wait for the hook to come down and grab the sack.
  4. While the sack is still low, quickly stand under it and look at its bottom.
  5. Hold E and ride along until the achievement unlocks.

Endings

Warning: this section spoils the endings.

When the shift ends, you find a key and reach the train. The cab has three levers, one for each line. Make a manual save before you pull one. Loading that save gets you all three endings.

For the Motherland achievement iconFor the Motherland
Your loyalty has been noted.

Pull the “Northern Front” lever.

Traitor achievement iconTraitor
Your service has been terminated.

Pull the “Western Industry” lever.

The Last Harvest achievement iconThe Last Harvest
Every harvest must end.

Pull the “Varenka” lever.

Every Path Has a Price achievement iconEvery Path Has a Price
There is no perfect ending.

Unlocks once you’ve seen all three endings. Load your manual save and pull each lever in turn.

Your Own Executioner achievement iconYour Own Executioner
You taught him well.

Send the train to Varenka while your son Pavel is still loyal to the state.

This is the only missable achievement. Pavel’s side is set by your replies to his letters throughout the game, so you can’t fix it just before the ending.

Each reply to Pavel counts toward one side: the Ministry (-1) or the Resistance (+1). If the total is above zero, Pavel joins the Resistance and the achievement is lost.

To get it for sure:

  • Choose “Send” every time Pavel asks for money.
  • In the “Director’s Questions” letter, choose “Tell what you know”.
  • Answer the other letters any way you like. The total still stays below zero.
  • Hide the Resistance notes you find in potatoes. You can report one to the Ministry at most. Report two or more and Pavel is taken hostage, which rules out the achievement.
  • Don’t put the Resistance poison on the carrots for the memorial dinner. That counts as one more reported note. Pouring it out or putting it on the cucumbers is fine.
  • Don’t report the people of Varenka.
  • At the end, pull the “Varenka” lever.
