How to enable Edge Panning and Camera-Focused Zoom & Rotation.

Close Planet Coaster 2

Make sure the game is completely closed to avoid it overwriting or ignoring your changes.

Locate the Configuration File

Open the Windows file explorer and navigate to:

  • Saved Games > Frontier Developments > Planet Coaster 2

Find the folder with your unique player ID (a long random number), and inside, open the Config folder.

Look for the file named Game_remote.config.xml.

Open the File in a Text Editor

Right-click on Game_remote.config.xml, select “Open With,” and choose a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++.

Modify Camera Settings

Once the file is open, locate the block that starts with

  • <Camera preset=”Custom” version=”4″>

Its near the bottom of the file.

In this block we need to change three lines to enable the advanced settings.

Enable Edge Pan

Change the line:

  • <EdgePan>None</EdgePan>

to

  • <EdgePan>Circular</EdgePan>

Enable Cursor-Focused Rotation

Change the line

  • <RotateFocus>Center</RotateFocus>

to

  • <RotateFocus>Cursor</RotateFocus>

Enable Cursor-Focused Zoom

Change the line

  • <ZoomFocus>Center</ZoomFocus>

to

  • <ZoomFocus>Cursor</ZoomFocus>

Save Your Changes

Save the file by selecting File > Save or pressing Ctrl + S.

Launch the game and enjoy a smoother, more intuitive camera experience!
