Dungeon Clawler: Endless Mode Guide

Items

Most items become less useful as the game progresses, so focus on selecting items that scale effectively as you move forward.

Paws

  • Count Clawcula: 10% damage to healing.
  • 2x Felina: Permanent pet, scales well with strength and works well with thorns and reflect.

Items

  • 2x Hand of Midas: Helps clear fluff and gain critical extra coins early on.
  • 2x Magnet: Keeps coins, Gauntlets, and Brass Knuckles together.
  • 3x Brass Knuckles: Provides dodge and basic attack. Becomes more powerful with thorns or reflect against higher-level mobs.
  • 2x Hand Mirror: Needed when dodge is unavailable (due to thorns or reflect) or when Holy Shield is missing.
  • 1x Morning Star: Scales well with decent block.
  • 2x Spiky Stressball: Useful early until the Amulet is found, then replace it. Spikes become dangerous later with thorns or reflect on higher-level mobs.
  • 3x Amulet of Strength: Essential to kick off strength, which will scale with Strength potions.
  • 2x Holy Shield: Useful early on when dodge isn’t stacked yet.
  • 4x Gauntlet: Scales well after activating Pearl+ several times.
  • 2x Helmet: Scales with block to enhance the Morning Star.
  • 3+ Harpoons: Doubles item usage, crucial for maximizing single-use items.

Critical Items

  • 5+ Strength Potions: Essential to defeat large enemies and scale with pets.
  • 5+ Pearl+: Upgraded Pearl boosts Gauntlet and Dodge buffs. Unupgraded Pearl is useless.

Upgrade Priorities

  • Upgrade items as needed, but Magnet and Hand of Midas are important early on to start gaining coins.
  • Gauntlets and Brass Knuckles help keep defenses up.
  • Amulet of Strength and Strength Potions are crucial for increasing damage.
  • Prioritize Pearls as they are ineffective without upgrades.

Clear Out Unwanted Items

  • Remove unnecessary items to prevent interference with block buffs and strength required to defeat large mobs.

Perks

Perks will vary depending on what is available, but here’s a starting guide to help you decide.

Important Perks

  • Magic Mirror: Doubles the first item used each turn (great for single-use items).
  • Picky: Doubles individual item usage (also good for single-use items).

Critical Perks

  • 5x Saving Account: Grants 10% extra coins based on current coins, maxing out at 50 x 5.
  • 5x Golden Armor: Adds 2 max health per 10 coins, scales well with a lot of coins.
  • 4x Blockmaster: Scales with Gauntlet buffs, Helmet, and Morning Star.
  • 5+ Catsuit: Increases dodge potential; prioritize this after maxing other perks.

QoL Perks

  • 4x Bargain: Keeps costs down, helping save coins for Saving Account and Golden Armor.
  • 9x Hard Hits: Adds 10% Crit per perk, achieving 100% Crit.
  • 3x Hoarder: Adds 10 additional items per drop, ensuring all items are visible at the start.
  • 2x Magnetism: Helps collect coins, Brass Knuckles, and Gauntlets.
  • Weaklings: Reduces enemy HP by 25%.

Bonus Perks

  • Anything else is a bonus once base perks are managed.

Transmute

Certain items can be transmuted to improve their effectiveness over time.

  • Hand of Midas: Metal > Plastic or Glass (easier to clear fluff).
  • Amulet of Strength: Glass > Metal (increases strength when magnets are used).
  • Spiky Stressball: Plastic > Metal (more strength when magnets are used).
  • Helmet: Metal > Plastic or Glass (easier to use when needed).

Strategies

Room Selection

  • Perks are crucial for progression, so aim to go for chests first and then the ? rooms, which contain purple bags with mystery perks. Collect all three bags for a significant advantage.

Item Usage Order

  • Brass Knuckles: Focus on dodge stacking early, as the Catsuit retains all unused dodges.
  • Amulet of Strength: Kicks off base strength, which multiplies with Strength potions.
  • Strength Potions: Boost strength for harder hits.
  • Gauntlet: Provides a base block buff, amplified by Pearl+.
  • Pearl+: Multiplies dodge and block buffs.
  • Helmet: After gaining enough block with Blockmaster, use it to boost the Morning Star.
  • Morning Star: Uses retained block for a powerful hit (loses 20% block).

Run Killers

  • Too Many Attacks Early: Use Holy Shield to prevent damage unless you can stack dodge quickly.
  • Thorns: Avoid attacking when you can’t handle the thorns damage. Let your pets do the work, or eliminate the thorns early before they stack too much.
  • Reflect: Don’t perform a big hit unless you can handle the reflected damage.
